The Lafitte Greenway is a 2.6-mile linear park located in the heart of New Orleans that connects people to nature, their destinations, and each other. Since its opening in 2015, the Greenway has served as the city’s premier bicycle and pedestrian pathway, linking neighborhoods from the French Quarter to City Park. Whether you are looking to engage with your local community, spend time in nature, or get active, the Greenway is the space for you!
Park hours

Getting there
Bike
The Greenway is the central artery of New Orleans’ burgeoning bicycle network- 120+ miles and growing.
From the Central Business District: The Loyola Avenue bike lane crosses Canal Street and connects to the Basin Street Trailhead
From the Hospitals: From Canal Street ride Galvez Street 4 blocks northeast/downriver to the Greenway
From Uptown: The Norman C. Francis off-street path connects to the Greenway at the foot of Bayou St. John at a bicycle/pedestrian roundabout

Bus and Streetcar
The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) buses and New Orleans streetcars connect to the Greenway. There is no additional cost or pass needed to use bicycle racks on RTA buses. Although streetcars do not have bike racks, but folding bicycles are welcome on board. Find additional information on routes here
