Giving Tuesday is a nationwide day of giving. As a nonprofit organization, Friends of Lafitte Greenway aims to provide programs to our community that connects them to nature, destinations and each other. This Giving Tuesday, please consider showing your support so we can continue to maintain a healthy environment for all.

Tree Planting with SOUL and Friends of Lafitte Greenway

Please join us on November 19th as we partner with SOUL (Sustaining our Urban Landscape) 100 trees along the Greenway trail. This is part of our Greenway Grow! campaign to plant 1,000 cypress trees on the Greenway that will help reduce the effects of flooding. If you are interested in volunteering with us, RSVP below.

Learn about the Greenway on the trail

New way-finding signage has been installed around the Greenway. These interpretative signs detail historical knowledge of the land the Greenway rests on as well as fun facts about the flora and fauna in the surrounding environment. Ride the Greenway to spot the signs at various locations along the 2.6 mile pedestrian and bike trail.

Greenway Executive Director Application Open

Friends is looking for an engaging, dynamic, and driven Executive Director to build on the organization’s 15+ years of success by advancing the organization’s mission, innovating upon its strengths, and carrying the organization’s work forward. Candidates will be tasked with upholding the vision of Friends, a healthy and vibrant Greenway that connects people to nature, their destinations, and each other.

Get Fit Fall Series Wrap up

November 19th marks the last class of our GetFit series of the year. Thank you to everyone who spent their time with us during our Fall workout series on the Greenway! Let’s have a relaxing last yoga class, this Saturday at 9am on the Great Lawn with the Ohm Well.

Halloween Spooktacular

We had an amazing Halloween Spooktacular! Special thanks to our community partners who joined us as we passed out candy along the trail. And of course, thank you to all who attended and enjoyed a wonderful night of candy, food, and fun in their spooky costumes. See you next year!
