Dear Lafitte Greenway Stakeholder:

Today, the Board of Directors of Friends of Lafitte Greenway (Friends) is launching its search for our next Executive Director.  Earlier this month, we shared that Sophie Harris Vorhoff is stepping down as the Friends’ Executive Director after a decade of service.

In preparation for the transition, the Friends Board completed an extensive internal evaluation to identify the skills and attributes of the ideal candidate to guide the Greenway’s next chapter. From that strategic plan, the Board developed this job post: Executive Director - Friends of Lafitte Greenway.

Friends is looking for an engaging, dynamic, and driven Executive Director to build on the organization’s 15+ years of success by advancing the organization’s mission, innovating upon its strengths, and carrying the organization’s work forward. Candidates will be tasked with upholding the vision of Friends, a healthy and vibrant Greenway that connects people to nature, their destinations, and each other.

Guiding the Executive Director Search is Friends’ Executive Search Committee. The Committee is co-chaired by Board Chair Reed Wiley and Board Member Melissa Lee with support from Susan Guidry, Greg Lawson, Sarah Olivier, and Monty Lunn.

The Greenway will continue to provide services and stewardship throughout this transition. We have a stellar team leading programs and operations and ensuring continuity during this upcoming transition, including team members Camly Tram (Operations & Projects Director), Alexis Marceaux (Community Relations & Development Manager), and Matt Rufo (Planning Consultant).

Please share our job posting with your networks, friends, and family.  Thank you for your continued support and engagement with Friends of the Lafitte Greenway.

Sincerely,

Reed Wiley, Board Chair, Co-Chair of Executive Search Committee

Melissa Lee, Board Member, Co-Chair of Executive Search Committee
