Join us in creating a safer, more connected New Orleans! We're proud partners to Bike Easy, the City of New Orleans and many community organizations in a movement to create safer and better connected bikeways across the city, specifically connecting to the French Quarter and downtown. In September, the collaborative will install a series of “pop-up” temporary roadway renovations that will be in place for 3 months, and residents will have the opportunity to give input and feedback.

Help us install the demonstration connecting the Greenway's Basin St. Trailhead to downtown! This involves painting roadways, and installing signage along the route, and sharing information about the project with passers-by.

Wear: Weather appropriate clothing, comfortable, closed-toe shoes, and sun protection.

Bring: A water bottle and a friend

More About Connect the Crescent:

A collaboration among Bike Easy, The City of New Orleans, and community partners like Friends of Lafitte Greenway, Connect The Crescent is a demonstration of a continuous, protected network consisting of enhanced crosswalks, improvements to transit, and protected bikeways which feature barriers separating people biking from automobile traffic on routes leading to and through New Orleans’ French Quarter and Central Business District.

This 3-month demonstration, which ends in mid-December, will serve as an opportunity to start a community discussion about safe and convenient bike routes in New Orleans. We expect the Connect The Crescent network to be experienced by tens of thousands of residents and visitors. Its safety, accessibility, convenience, and community programs will lead to permanent infrastructure improvements across New Orleans and the region.
