Program Summary

Friends of Lafitte Greenway, in partnership with the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORD), is calling on musicians and musical acts  to submit proposals for the 5th Supernova exhibit: December 12-14, 2024 at the Greenway Plaza and Station. Supernova is a free annual, light-based, public art exhibit and music event on the Greenway Supernova is designed to inspire, spark joy and wonder for the New Orleans community, support the growth of emerging visual and performing artists, and grow the Lafitte Greenway’s community. Supernova will be on display at the Greenway Plaza and Station where the Greenway meets Bayou St. John, 500 N. Norman C. Francis Pkwy.

The purpose of this application is to give emerging musicians an opportunity to perform at a large public community event. If you're an aspiring musician, this could be your chance to shine! Supernova is December 12-14, please make sure your band is available for those dates before applying.

MUSICIAN REQUIREMENTS AND AGREEMENT: 

  1. Greenway will provide stage and basic audio and sound set up 

  2. Upon selection, the artist, performer, or group agrees to let Friends of Lafitte Greenway pair them with a sponsor on stage signage and in promotional material, solely for Artist, Performer or Group’s performance at Supernova 2024 and for the purpose of paying the performance

  3. Payment provided night of performance
