In honor of the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, organizations and neighbors in Mid-City are coming together for a collaborative volunteer day to make Mid-City thrive.
Friends of Lafitte Greenway and SOUL (Sustaining Our Urban Landscape) are teaming up with the Department of Parks and Parkways and NORD to mulch and care for the Greenway's 500 native trees. Thank you to the Greater Mid-City Business Association for their support of this project. Please join us to roll up your sleeves and keep the Greenway's ecosystem thriving!
When: 9am to noon on Saturday, August 24th
Where: Meet up at the roundabout at the Greenway's intersection with Jeff. Davis Pkwy
What: Volunteer mulching the Greenway's Trees
Come Prepared:
- Hat for sun protection
- Close-toed shoes
- Water bottle
- Wear sunscreen
Kids are warmly welcomed with adult supervision.
