The National Recreation and Park Association chose New Orleans’ Lafitte Greenway as a 2017 Parks Build Community project yesterday, November 16.

The Parks Build Community project is a park renovation program conducted by the National Recreation and Park Association every year. The NRPA led its first park renovation in 2008. New Orleans is the eighth park to be chosen by the NRPA.

Renovations will take place throughout the 2017 year. The project is expected to be completed in September of 2017. The projects are funded by national sponsors, and donations managed by the NRPA.
