TREE PROFILE The Southern Live Oak is a picturesque tree originally from the Southeast coastal sand dunes. It is a signature street tree in New Orleans with its impressive twisting trunks and branches, gracefully sweeping to the earth. A mature Live Oak grows 40 to 80 feet tall and is capable of consuming up to 1,000 gallons of water per day.
