Nearly a year after the city’s newest greenspace officially opened, members of Friends of Lafitte Greenway are hosting a celebratory soiree on Friday night.

The Greenway Soiree 2016 will feature ten area restaurants and a night of drinks, dancing and a silent auction. Auction items were donated by businesses along the Lafitte corridor, and the event is open to Friends of Lafitte Greenway’s members and nonmembers, though ticket prices vary.

Officials chose to host the shindig one year after the Greenway’s opening because of its remarkable growth and impact on the city, officials said.
